At the National Farmers’ Day held at Techiman in the Bono East Region today, 55-year-old Solomon Kojo Kusi has been named as the Best Farmer of the Year.
Mr Kusi who is from Jomoro District of the Western Region has been in the agriculture business for the past decade with a current farm strength of 220 workers.
As part of his prize, he has received a GHS570,000 cash prize which is equivalent to a two-bedroom house.
Mr Kusi before today was in 2015 named the best farmer in his district. He is married and has nine children.
Nana Kofi Drobo IV of Wenchi in the Bono Region emerged the first runner-up while Mahmoud Mohammed Awal from Zabzugu in the Northern Region was the second-runner up.
